Rake season 1 episode 1 is the pilot episode of the much talked about new FOX series. So how can this new show survive the discriminating palate of viewers who want nothing more than pure entertainment? Well, let's just say it took its charm from Hugh Laurie's "HOUSE" and shifted it into something that touches the legalities of everyday living. Basically, the show is trying to put a different take on Dr. House's character by incorporating his eccentric antics into the world of crimes and laws alike. And that's how Rake, which stars Greg Kinnear as lead Keegan Deane, was born. Sounds interesting, eh? Don't miss the season premiere of the series tonight at 9/8c on FOX. E! Online recently reported about the new show that's about to hit the small-screen tonight, and the site revealed that basically the lead character, Keegan Deane, is an attorney who actually suffers from a variety of perturbing problems than most of his clients. Kinnear who sat down with E! News said that he plays a "defense attorney" in the series. "I haven't played an attorney before, and he has some problems," he added. "The guys whose wants and needs and influences and addictions are jjust this snowballing effect in his life. They effect [sic] both his life and his profession." So yes, we now have a new antihero to watch out for staring tonight. Watch Rake season 1 episode 1 stream through the free online stream link found at the bottom.

Meanwhile, if you are wondering about how deplorable Kinnear's role is in the show, E! News dished that his character is a complete mess. He owes a lot of money from shady people and he even takes advantage of his own circle of friends (if he has one). Keegan does not pay his long-time secretary, but he has time to indulge into his addiction to women and gambling... so yes you get the picture, eh? However, despite all these negative things, Rake will show to us that such a character has his redeeming traits such as his passion to handle cases that most law practitioners out there wouldn't lay a finger on. By the way, in case you haven't known yet Rake is actually taken from an Australian series which goes by the same title. "I've always seen a lot of scripts and ideas for TV shows over the years, and this one wasn't really a script. I guess the advantage of it was I saw the show," Kinnear, who serves as a producer on the new FOX series said. "In a way it had an advantage just in the sense that it was already kind of built and had interesting DNA in it that I thought would be really cool in a show here."

Here is the official show description for Rake: "Brilliant, frustratingly charming and with zero filter, Keegan is one of life's great addicts. His staggering lack of discretion and inability to self-censor land him the cases that nobody else will touch, but behind that lies a resolute optimism and belief in justice that fuel his dogged determination to defend those who seem beyond redemption. He always tries to do the right thing, but at the same time struggles to save himself from the many self-destructive elements that plague his own life, such as his overindulgence of various excesses, including women and gambling. Each morning, Keegan tends to wake up bruised - physically, emotionally, spiritually. Usually it's a combination of them all. Then it's out into the world - onto the battleground of Keegan's day."

"Serial Killer" airs this Thursday, Jan. 23, at 9/8c on FOX. Watch Rake season 1 episode 1 stream using this free online stream link here.
