Seattle Seahawks Crush Denver Broncos With Humiliating 43-8 Defeat; LB Smith Named Super Bowl MVP

Seattle Seahawks were at the top of their game for the Super Bowl XLVIII after winning their first NFL championship with 43-8.

On the Super Bowl's first snap, the Seattle Seahawks let the ball sail past Peyton Manning's head towards the end zone, making history with the quickest score in Super Bowl history.

Seattle Seahawk's Linebacker Malcolm Smith was named MVP for Super Bowl XLVIII, a testament to just how crushing a performance Seattle's defense delivered.

The scope of Seattle's dominance overwhelmed the Broncos from the get-go, giving them a thorough trashing of favored Denver in ever facet of the game.

The Seahawk's defensive legion lowered the boom on Broncos' famous quarterback, Peyton Manning, and his vaunted offense, forcing two picks and carrying a shutout into the third quarter.

Seattle Seahawks scored in almost every imaginable way: a pick-six, a genius kickoff return by Percy Harvin, a Marshawn Lynch powerhouse run, a couple field goals, a Russell Wilson-to-Jermaine Kearse catch-and-run and the aforementioned safety.

"At the beginning of the season I told our guys, 'Hey, why not us?'" Wilson said. "We believed that we could get here."

It was 22-zip at the half, 29-0 after Harvin took the opening kick of the second half to the house and 36-0 before Denver got on the scoreboard.

This was one of the most lopsided Super Bowls in history. Surprisingly, Denver is also part of the most uneven scores in history, back in Super Bowl XXIV where they lost to San Franciso in a 55-10 defeat.

Seattle managed to score 12 seconds into both halves and their No. 1 rated defense decided the game.
