Ellen Page is obviously flipping the pages this time after formally announcing to the world her true sexuality. The 'Juno' star recently came out in 'Time to THRIVE,' a national conference in Las Vegas that encourages the "safety, inclusion and well-being of LGBTQ youth," according to WebProNews.
In the said report, Ellen Page began her speech by saying, "I'm here today because I'm gay and because maybe I can make a difference." The 26-year-old actress admitted in her speech that she felt a "personal obligation and social responsibility" adding that she is "tired of lying by omission."
Page also admitted that she was too afraid to come out for years prior to her announcement. "You have ideas planted in your head that tell you how you have to act, how you have to dress and who you have to be. I have been trying to push back, to be authentic, to follow my heart, but it can be hard," she said.
Because of her announcement, recent dating rumors with Alexander Skarsgard have been proven untrue. But even before Ellen Page's big reveal, 'True Blood' actor Aexander Skarsgard already slammed the dating reports in an interview with Metro.
The 37-year-old actor said that he is totally single at the moment and that he does not mind whether news outlets link him to his leading ladies.
"There's nothing you can do about that - so I try not to let it affect me," Skarsgard was quoted by Beauty World News saying in the interview.
On the other hand, Ellen Page's confirmation of her sexuality also led many outlets to question whether she has indeed engaged into a romantic fling with now 38-year-old actress Drew Barrymore in 2009.
It can be noted that Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore made headlines back then when they starred in 'Whip It' and did a daring shoot and interview with Marie Claire.
The two Hollywood celebs even caused a stir because they did some daring shoots including one that showed them lip-locking.
Moreover, the interview also hinted that something was going on between the two.
"Ellen has such a beautiful body, and I personally battled with my own body image for years. I used to tell myself, 'You can't wear anything sleeveless or strapless.' And all of a sudden I was like, What if I just didn't send such negative messages to my brain and said, wear it and enjoy it? And now I'm more comfortable in clothes than ever," Drew said back then in the interview. To which Ellen Page answered, "That openness. It's so sexy."
Drew then added, "She was in her frickin' bra with an open jacket and hot-pink shorts, skating around the rink with red lips and..." Ellen quickly interrupted by saying, "I was having a really good time."
