Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins may have a played a bigger part in his arrest than what was first believed by the court.
According to Sports World Report, Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend may be given a gag order and may face jail time as it was discovered that Hernandez included coded messages in the phone calls he made while inside the prison.
Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend could be facing jail time for perjury alongside Hernandez who remains in jail as he waits for his trial on the charge of first degree murder.
Judge Susan Garsh announced last week that te prosecution did not break any laws or violate any issue of ethics, however she still approved of a formal gag.
Media reports say that Hernandez talked about the murder of Odin Lloyd, including his "belief about his criminal liability" and the "extent of his control over persons charged as accessories."
The calls may have also touched matters connected to Hernandez's co-defendants' "whereabouts and likely criminal liability," read the motion filed in Fall River Superior Court.
Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, who were said to be with Hernandez and Lloyd on the night of the murder, have pleaded not guilty to charges of accessory to the crime.
Prosecutors have requested the court judge to give them access to records of jailhouse visits related to Hernandez, including those with Hernandez's girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins and cousin Tanya Singleton.
Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend has pleaded not guilty to perjury. Singleton has also pleaded not guilty to charges of contempt and conspiracy.
