Kevin Durant's latest signature shoe has been living up to its lofty billing as proven by the latest colorway of the Nike KD VI, which has been making a lot of noise on the sneaker market.
As expected, sneaker fans gave the KD VI "Aunt Pearl" a hot reception on Thursday. And if you haven't seen the specialized-edition of Durant's signature shoe, you still have time to get your hands on it.
The KD VI Supreme "Aunt Pearl" features a pink floral pattern design on the upper part that was enhanced with blue and subtle pearl hints.
This edition was reportedly made as Durant's tribute to his late Aunt Pearl, who died of cancer in 2000.
Durant said that he promised to honor his late Aunt in any possible way, and he certainly fulfilled his goal with the now-popular sneaker, which is listed as the Light Arctic Pink/Photo Blue-Vivid Pink of his sixth signature shoe with Nike.
"I made a promise to myself to always honor my Aunt Pearl for the example she set, and the encouragement she gave me to follow my dreams," said Durant on the latest colorway of his signature sneaker.
This edition is still available on the sneaker market for $150 per pair with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a foundation that aims to raise awareness on different types of women's cancers.
Another new colorway of the KD VI is scheduled to hit shelves soon.
The Nike KD VI "Liger" will arrive at retailers on Saturday, June 1, and will retail at $130 per pair in select Nike retailers worldwide.
According to Nike, this edition, which is listed as the Electric Green/Night Factor-Atomic Orange colorway of this signature model, was inspired by Durant's love for animal print and bold colors as proven by the leopard and tiger prints on the upper part of the shoe.
Aside from the two excellent-looking colorways of Durant's shoe, Nike will also release a new colorway of one of Kobe Bryant's signature shoes - the Kobe Venomenon 4.
The Kobe Venomenon 4 will come out in a "Diffused Jade" edition also on Saturday and will be available for $120 per pair in select Nike retailers.
