Snake eats crocodile - This is not your typical news but a National Geographic-worthy report is making rounds on the Internet as of late, getting attention from viewers, who want to see the viral video of a large snake eating a crocodile.
It's the battle everyone wasn't expecting, but was riveting and compelling enough to get much attention. When a beast betrays another beast and starts a literal fight for life and death, which animal are you siding? There is the 10-foot water python, who is apparently quite hungry enough for him to make a snack out of his cousin, a crocodile. And on the other side is the young crocodile, who is willing to do everything in his power not to let anyone devour him whole.
According to Market Watch, several onlookers gathered as a large snake devoured a crocodile at Lake Moondarra in northwest Queensland Australia last Sunday. The phenomenon got a lot of attention nationally and internationally after a few onlookers, who took photos and videos of the rare event, uploaded them on the Internet.
One onlooker named Tiffany Corlis talked to the Brisbane Times about the rather odd phenomenon of a snake eating a crocodile. According to Corlis, it took at least five hours before the exhausted crocodile gave up and surrendered himself to the large water python.
The monstrous snake allegedly strangled the relatively smaller crocodile, dragged the prey to the shore and devoured the entire reptile within 15 minutes. After which, the snake laid still as the form of the crocodile could be seen on his belly.
"When you actually looked at the snake, you could actually see the crocodile's ridges, legs and everything inside its belly," Corlis said.
"We were sort of thinking the snake had bitten off a little more than it could chew, pardon the pun, but it did actually eat the crocodile," she later told ABC.
Although the report in itself sounded quite epic, this isn't actually the first time that a snake ate a crocodile. In the summer of 2013, a 13-foot American python reportedly exploded after eating an alligator whole.
