Jordan Linn Graham was accused of pushing her husband off a sharp cliff nine months ago. The crime happened just days after the couple was married. The accused was sentenced by a federal judge with 30 years in prison just this Thursday.
Graham pleaded that she was guilty for the second degree murder in December, she was just 22. The bride admitted that she and her late husband Cody Johnson, was at the Glacier National Park, when she pushed him off the cliff. She was also accused of giving false statements and information during the investigation, before she eventually pleaded guilty.
Jordan Linn Graham was also reported in delaying the sentencing, by withdrawing her guilty plea last Wednesday, disputing that the prosecutors negotiated for a less harsher sentence if she admitted to the crime. Prosecutors arguably negated on Graham's claim, accusing her for pushing a postponement on the proceedings.
The motion to withdraw the accused guilty plea was denied by the U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy this Thursday. Sentencing Jordan Linn Grham to 365 months, or 30 yearn in prison. The family of the late Cody Johnson, was requesting life imprisonment, before the sentencing was put into ruling.
Evidences has been a vital part of the ruling, pointing out the the 25 year old Cody Lee Johnson body was found dead on July 12, at a sharp and rugged area of Glacier National Park. Prosecutors divulge that the couple had an argument on July 7, following the confessions of Jordan Linn Graham. The newlywed had only been married for 8 days during the time of the incident. Some investigations also states that Jordan Linn Graham was having doubts with her marriage before the crime happened.
Friends and Family of Cody Lee Johnson was satisfied with the sentencing, finding content with the Judge's ruling on thursday.
