Putin divorce Kabeava - Strongman Vladimir Putin is back on the market again after his divorce from his wife of 30 years, Lyudmila Putina has been finalized. And now that he is marketable again, many are questioning whether he is going for former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, the woman who was allegedly the main reason why he called it quits with his wife.
According to Inquisitr, Vladimir Putin has long been reported to be involved in an extramarital affair with Kabaeva, his junior by three decades.
The 61-year-old Putin is now divorced from his wife, and he is presumably eyeing on freely dating Kabaeva, who was apparently one of the six torch-bearers at the recently concluded Sochi Winter Olympics.
Critics claim that Putin can now take advantage of his divorce and either push through with getting serious with Kabaeva or make a few rounds in the open market before making a decision.
It can be noted that the rumors about marrying Kabaeva after his divorce with Putina have persisted for many years now. This began when Moskovsky Korrespondent ran an article claiming that Putin was planning to divorce Lyudmila to freely marry Kabaeva.
In 2008, Putin publicly denied that the reason why he was divorcing the mother of his two daughters was because he intended to marry Kabaeva after.
That same year, Moskovsky Korrespondent was closed down.
Today, Russia-watchers noticed that in the official biography of Putin, his family only comprises his two daughters, 28-year-old Maria and 27-year-old Yekaterina.
"That means the divorce has taken place," Putin flack Dmitry Peskov said.
"Lyudmila is history. Whole epochs will now be thrown out of our history textbooks," a Moscow radio station commenter said.
Aside from his now ex-wife Putina, Vladimir's political opponents have already been erased from recent editions of history textbooks.
Vladimir Putin and Lyudmila Putina got married in June of 1983. After spending 30 years of being together, the two decided to split in summer 2013.
