Kirk Hinrich was involved in several trade talks before the deadline in February, but the veteran point guard looked unfazed, expressing desire to stay with the Chicago Bulls next season.
The Bulls reportedly shopped Hinrich before the deadline with previous reports indicating that the Golden State Warriors were very interested in acquiring the 33-year-old point guard, but failed to strike a deal.
Hinrich, who returned to the Bulls after stints with the Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks, is facing an uncertain future in Chicago as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
And if he will have it his way, Hinrich said that he wants to return to the Chicago Bulls next season, but he quickly admitted that he is unsure about the Bulls' plan this offseason.
"I like it here," Hinrich told the Chicago Tribune. "Obviously, returning home was a big factor in why I came back. I would like to stay here. But I don't know what's in their future plans. Right now, I'm just trying to enjoy it while I'm in it and take what comes later."
The 11-year-veteran signed a two-year deal worth $8 million in 2012, and he will likely command the same type of contract when he hits free agency in the offseason.
Hinrich hinted, though, that he is willing to take less to stay with the Bulls, knowing that the team has a good chance to contend for a title next season.
"At this point of your career, you want to be on a team that is a good fit and has a chance to be a winner," Hinrich said.
The current situation in Chicago is not on Hinrich's favor, though, because the Bulls are expected to create cap room this summer to make a strong push to sign a superstar.
Previous reports indicated that they will likely make a run at signing Carmelo Anthony or Lance Stephenson this summer, or Kevin Love in 2015.
Superstar point guard Derrick Rose is also expected to be ready in time for next season.
Hinrich might not get the same minutes he is having this season when Rose returns, considering the fact that he has been overshadowed by backup point guard D.J. Augustin this season.

Augustin, who is averaging 14.5 points and 5.1 assists since signing with the Bulls in December, also expressed desire to stay in Chicago, and the Bulls might decide to keep him instead of Hinrich.
