Australian singer, Cody Simpson, is making quite a name for himself these days.
Cody Simpson originally known as the Australian counterpart of Justin Bieber (He had the same Youtube discovery story where at the tender age of 12, he was seen by record producer Shawn Campbell in one of his many covers)
Simpson is all grown up now and bigger in name as well, with his own concerts-no longer just a front act to bigger bands. And at 17 he is no less appealing (he has become even more so), or any less talented (he has branched out into different things e.g. Dancing on DWTS this season)
Cody Simpson's success and added rise to his popularity can be attributed to his chart-topping singles from his latest full studio Album Surfers Paradise, producing such hits as "Pretty Brown Eyes" which was released as the lead single from the album on April 23, 2013.
Followed up by "Summertime of Our Lives" on June 18, 2013 and "La Da Dee" which was released on September 12, 2013.
The cutsey song "La Da Dee" (Written by Keinan Warsame, Wayne Wilkins, Antwoine Collins, Cody Simpson, Roman Ramirez, Kevin Anyaeji and Rich King, and produced by Wayne Wilkins, "La Da Dee," from Atlantic Records) was featured in Sony Pictures Animation's visually stunning, delectable Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs sequel. It debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 200 making it Simpson's best week of sales and highest-charting release to date.
Lia Vollack, president of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures had said of her choice of choosing "La Da Dee", "'La Da Dee' is a bright, fresh, fun song that strikes the perfect tone to end Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Cody is a wonderful and talented recording artist who appeals to kids and their parents alike - he's a perfect fit with the world of the film."
Simpson's La Da Dee's music video incorporated, and featured footage from the film.
