Dwayne Johnson Death Hoax: Social Media Posts Claiming The Rock Died In New Zealand Is Scam

Dwayne Johnson is currently a new victim of online information scam with rumors of his death are circulating over social media sites. The actor and wrestler, commonly known as "The Rock" was rumored to be dead after a stunt accident during filming of the movie "Fast & Furious 7" in New Zealand.

Spreading posts in Facebook reveals a statement, " RIP Dwayne Johnson (1972 - 2014) with a link of a video to watch how the celebrity died. The post that shows the picture of the actor is definitely a scam, and there are no such video of the accident.

Dwayne Johnson made sure that the rumors were untrue by tweeting several messages to his followers and fans. He also post a tweet saying, "Real men get roses.. & bottles of tequila;) Just landed & got to my suite. Thank U, London! Who wants a drink?"

The controversial death hoax post in Facebook, allows everyone who clicks on the link to be redirected to a fake Facebook replicate asking people to re-post and spread the scam. These scams over the internet are usually made to lure users to online marketing pages, or to make the user computer vulnerable from malwares and bugs. In other cases, theses types of scam posts will direct the user to an online survey, or to get more visitors to their websites.

Facebook already warned their users to stay away from posts that contains suspicious contents, those types of posts are usually scams that needs to be avoided even if it was posted by a friend. This scam posts can increase the possibility of being spammed if clicked.

Dwayne Johnson death is definitely a hoax, the famous actor and wrestler even posted a message on his tweeter expressing condolences to the late Ultimate Warrior who recently died on Tuesday night, which was real.
