Gospel of Jesus' Wife: Complete Possibility of Jesus' wife being real

Possibility of Jesus' wife being real: What it could mean to the Catholic Church?

Ever since learned men; Sciencetists, Scholars, Historians alike have set out to disprove the divinity of Christ; trying to tie him down as a mere Man.

It seems now they have something to back up their claims. Though it is at it's early stages, the investigation into the papyrus manuscript has so far ticked all the boxes-the three-inch piece of papyrus with Coptic writing (the ink testing shows that it is consistent in quality from that time, it originates in Egypt), thought to originate from the eighth-century version of writings from the disciples of Jesus, popped up almost 18 months ago when historian Karen L. King (a prominet divinity school researcher at Harvard) announced her initial findings which she first introduced the text at a conference in 2012.

The First known dialogue with 8 lines on the front and six lines at the back ;What is gripping of the entire piece are the two words that followed the phrase "Jesus said to them," "My wife...." which he indentifies as Mary which some believe to be Mary Magdalene.

The controversial theory that was popularly enforced by The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown's Novel.

There are so many questions this fragment can't answer," King had said. "Is Jesus talking about a real wife, or the church, or a sister-wife? Who is the Mary—his mother, his wife, or some other Mary entirely?"

As their are a number of different ocassions where there are different Mary's being mentioned; besides Jesus’ mother, there is the sister of Lazarus and Martha; Mary from Bethany. Mary, James and Joses' mother. One of these “Marys” is “from the village of Magdala or Magdalene, the one he ridded of the seven demons.

Was this a conversation meant to settle all debates about the importance of the role of women in Christianity?

Magdalene's relationship with Jesus in the Sciptures is as follows:

The name most mentioned-and always the first- amongst other women in the Bible, Magdalene could possibly be, to some extent, at the same level as Jesus' disciples; She had been present during his travels after he healed her, she followed him. She was the first one to witness Jesus' return; he appeared to her first, after she had seen that his tomb had been empty.

Also looking into other possible meanings or interpretations of the term wife; Apparently, the title, wife, didn't necesarrily constitute as a spouse or someone a man had sexual relationships with, at the time, a wife could be someone that cooks or cleans for a person.

In the end King supplies that "This is not evidence that Jesus was married. We don't know," King emphasizes. "But early Christians were extremely interested in questions about whether they should be married or be celibate."
