Google recently purchased its newest addition to its company, Titan Aerospace, the maker of a solar powered pilot-less aircraft that can provide internet access while in the air. The purchase puts Google on top of the competition against its rival Facebook for providing internet service via an aircraft.
The tech giant, Google went a step further from Facebook's plans to purchase a company that manufactures drones that can fly on high-altitude in order to provide internet access to remote areas in the world. The company plans to be ahead of the race from rival competitors who are also planing to reach communities with no internet services.
The cost of purchase of the Titan Aerospace company has not been divulge by Google, but the acquisition was announced just this Monday by the tech giant. The recent purchase made speculations that Facebook was the first reported company who was interested to buy an aircraft drone manufacturer just weeks after Google bought Titan Aerospace.
A spokesperson from Google gave a statement about the tech giant and Titan Aerospace main purpose and optimism in improving the world with the use of technology. They believed that this atmospheric aircraft and satellites can deliver internet access to communities, and will allow millions of people a way to the online world. This technology is also considered to help solve global issues, specifically natural disaster relief and environmental catastrophes. Google is happy to include Titan Aerospace which employs a staff of 20 talented individuals to its family.
The solar powered unmanned aircraft that they are planning to build can last for years in the air, and can continuously fly on high altitudes providing wireless internet below. The company targets developing economies on their current project with Titan Aerospace.
Google is said to be spending a lot of time developing new technologies that will attract more consumers, but they are also concerned on products that can improve the lives of their market.
