Adrien Broner knows that fight fans are itching to see Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao collide, but he is also willing to face the Filipino boxing icon if given the chance.
In a recent interview with Boxing Socialist, Broner praised Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley for their good showdown on April 12 wherein the former pound-for-pound king reclaimed the World Boxing Organization welterweight title.
"Good fight," Broner said. "I want to give a shout-out to Timothy Bradley. I think he's underrated as a boxer. He's done some great things for the sport. He's a great guy, he's got a great spirit. I don't think he gets all of the credit that he's supposed to."
Broner then gave a shout-out to Pacquiao, then quickly expressed his desire to square off with the 35-year-old welterweight champion any time at any weight.
"I want to give a shout-out to Pacquiao. And who knows? S**t, I ain't scared to fight that m**********r. S**t, tell him to come on. I'll fight him. I don't care where we fight if I fight Pacquiao. S**t, we can fight at 115 if I can make it," Broner said.
However, Broner's desire to face Pacquiao in a showdown could be considered as an empty claim, considering the fact that he is with Golden Boy Promotions and Al Haymon, while Pacquiao is contracted with Bob Arum's Top Rank Promotions.
The promotional dispute between Top Rank and GBP along with Al Haymon is expected to make the fight close to impossible as it is the same reason why the long-dreamed Pacquiao vs Mayweather super fight is still unlikely to happen.
Broner, who lost his WBA welterweight title in his showdown with Marcos Maidana in December last year, will look to get back on track when he collides with Carlos Molina on the undercard of the Mayweather vs Maidana showdown on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Broner, who will move down to 140-pound division, said that he will go all out against Molina in hopes of getting a title shot as he is aiming to become a four-division champion.
"I don't know if it's been done before, but I'm going to have to tell you," Broner said. "I'm going to be a four-time world champion in four different weight classes at the age of 24. I'm trying to do that."
