AOL Mail Service Hacker Attacks: AOL Mail Service User Accounts Are Utilized To Send Spam Mails To Others

AOL Mail is recently being attacked by hackers, and some users already made some reports about their email accounts sending out spam mails to other people. Complains that were made by thousands of users across twitter about the hacking attacks was confirmed by AOL, although the mail service still doesn't know the intensity of the attack.

AOL is currently looking for ways to combat the hacking issue of their mail service, as of now some sources from the company told TechCrunch that less than 1% of the entire mail service users have been affected by this problem. AOL is expecting to get more reports from the users who have their accounts compromised by the hacking attacks.

AOL also gave a statement pointing out that they take security and safety of their users seriously, and that they are handling all consumer complains actively and doing their best to solve it. As of the moment AOL is prioritizing their work efforts in resolving the issues that their users are having, they want to restore the accounts to a secure state.

The mail service also issued a warning to its users that the spam mail sent via their accounts may contain a link that could redirect the receiver to malware, phishing attacks, or viruses. The user can identify the emails on their sent folder which are definitely questionable and not from the account holder, it means that their account has been compromised.

AOL has given some pointers and recommendations for their consumers, in order to personally resolve the hacking issue. First on the list is that the user is advised to change their passwords in order to restrain the hacker from accessing their account, and that user can also visit the AOL help pages to find additional help in terms of securing their accounts.
