Seattle Mariners rumors - Kendrys Morales has rejected a three year, $30 million dollar contract from the Seattle Mariners, and the outcome of his decision may have not been very favorable.
According to Fansided, a Seattle Mariners rumor claims that the team allegedly offered a whopping $30 million contract to Kendrys Morales for him to stay with the team for the 2013 All-Star break since they didn't want to lose the veteran hitter in free agency.
Now the thing is, it seems that the veteran first baseman/designated hitter's decision may have been a total bummer for his career.
Kendrys Morales is recently sitting without a team while the Seattle Mariners have already moved on by using some of the available funds created by not signing Morales towards prized free agent signing Robinson Cano.
"Seattle general manager Jack Zduriencik fielded questions at the end of a meet-and-greet with season-ticket holders on opening night at Safeco Field. He was asked about Morales and said the Mariners had offered him a three-year, $30 million contract, which was declined. The offer was made during last season after the All-Star break," an official statement from the team reads.
Additionally, as if that wasn't bad enough, another Seattle Mariners rumor surfaced saying that Morales also declined a one-year, $14.1 million dollar qualifying offer this past off-season since he was allegedly looking to secure a long term deal.
As of late, Kendrys Morales is reportedly hoping to sign after June's amateur draft since "his draft pick compensatory status will come to an end" soon.
