Christina Applegate shared her experience upon discovering that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, saying that she "lost her mind." She was diagnosed with the disease in 2008, and had to undergo a double mastectomy a few months after discovering she had breast cancer.
The 42 year old actress is now open in sharing her experience with the procedure and how she coped up with it. She is now free from the disease for more than six years, and also believes that the operation had a permanent effect on her mind.
The actress, Christina Applegate told ET News, that she lost her mind upon discovering that she had breast cancer, and also adding that "I still sometimes lose my mind six years later. You look down and you have a daily reminder of everything that you've gone through."
The surgical procedure the actress went through saved her life from the cancer that was discovered by an MRI test. Christina Applegate experience with cancer urged her to start a foundation, Right Action for Women, that provides free MRI tests to women with high risk of having the disease specifically breast cancer.
The actress also said that the foundation is already almost built up of 500 individuals working together. She also gave a statement saying that, "We've spent over half a million dollars on MRIs, which is really incredible. Now we need to replenish."
Christina Applegate lost her mind during her ordeals with breast cancer, but also said previously that it was a"bittersweet" experience. The Hollywood star definitely had some physical problems due to the experience she had with the disease, which also gave her a permanent effect on her life. The actress told a British newspaper The Independent, that the process was not easy for her, even after six years later the actress said, "I'm still having some physical issues because of it." The ordeal that went with breast cancer was a constant reminder for the actress, saying, "yep, that happened to me."
