"It was a great, amazing, positive experience for me," said the newly eliminated star, Nene Leakes, following her elimination from DWTS 2014. "I felt really blessed to be there. I made friends for life. I felt like it was amazing that me, fabulous at 40, [was] competing with 20-year-olds and Olympians." On the other hand, aside from Nene's exit, the remaining couples also faced injury issues. Danica McKellar, who got a rib injury during the rehearsals, managed to perform her dance number, but the judges noticed her tentative steps; thus, her scores slightly suffered. Additionally, McKellar's injury wasn't the worst that night. Amy Purdy, who hurt her back while turning towards the judges after her number, was rushed to the hospital and her status for the upcoming week is still uncertain. "Amy's been cleared to continue, but she hasn't been dancing yet because of the [muscle] inflammation," Purdy's dancing partner Derek Hough wrote on hs DWTS 2014 blog. "It's not like, 'You can dance in two days.' It's whenever she feels better and feels like she's ready to. Interestingly, because Purdy couldn't participate in her team dance with Team Loca comprising her, Danica McKellar, Meryl Davis, and Candace Cameron Bure, the production team decided to show their rehearsal footage instead. Surprisingly, the team got a 40/40 score from the judges, and this simply means that it's either James Maslow or Charlie White, who will be heading home after tonight's battle.
