Monica Lewinsky Speaks Out About Her Scandal and Fling With Clinton After A Long Decade Of Silence In The Media

Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern alleged of having an affair with former U.S. President Bill Clinton during his tenure, finally speaks out after a long decade of silence with the media. The intern affair was known to had been the cause of the 1998 impeachment filed against the former head of state.

The 40 year-old Monica Lewinsky finally broke her lengthy silence in an article she wrote for the Vanity Fair magazine. The former White House intern indicated that she definitely regrets the affair and fling she had with former President Clinton, and that she feels that he "took advantage" of her. Although, Monica Lewinsky also depicted her relationship with the former head of state as consensual.

The former White house inter also gave a statement writing "it's time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress.," which will be read at the upcoming issue of the popular magazine, Vanity Fair.

Monica Lewinsky was believed to have started a sexual relationship with Bill Clinton in 1995, while she was a White house intern. The Monica Lewinsky scandal was discovered by the public which led to the 1998 impeachment case against the former President Clinton. Republicans who led and filed two articles of impeachment against Clinton came to a failure when the Senate acquitted the president of the charges. The grounds that Clinton lied about having an affair with the intern was not sufficient to rule out the ouster of the former head of state.

The news about the Monica Lewinsky scandal came to a halt when the former white house intern became publicly silent, and went to continue her studies at the London School of Economics in Britain to acquire a masters degree in social psychology.

Some speculations that the release of Monica Lewinsky's Vanity Fair Article that will be available on the June 2014 issue, is somewhat related to the announcement made by Hillary Clinton run for the presidency in 2016. The former White House intern was characterized as a "narcissistic loony toon" during the 1990s by Hillary Clinton, based on a written communication made with her close friend Diane Blair.

Monica Lewinsky responded about the comment made by Hillary Clinton by saying, "If that's the worst thing she said, I should be lucky." She also made it clear that she rejected the character label of being a "narcissistic loony toon" which was addressed to her.

Monica Lewinsky speaking out about her scandal and fling with the former U.S. President Bill Clinton may have came to a questionable time after being able to to stay silent about the issue in media for a decade. Hopefully the Vanity Affair magazine article is not a response to negate the plans of Hillary Clinton to run for presidency in 2016.
