Michael Sam Kissing Boyfriend [VIDEO] Openly Gay Player Michael Sam Seals Good NFL Draft News With Emotional Kiss

Michael Sam kissed his boyfriend after hearing the good news that the St. Louis Rams picked him in the NFL Draft Saturday.

It was indeed a moment of firsts in the history of NFL Draft as the first openly gay player got drafted into the league, leading to a first ever gay kiss reaction following the big announcement.

Michael Sam's emotional kiss with his boyfriend after hearing the news about him getting picked by the St. Louis Rams was caught on camera, sending social media abuzz, New York Daily News reported.

The historic night for the NFL was highlighted by an unscripted and emotional embrace between Sam and his boyfriend. The openly gay player even broke down in tears as he planted an intense kiss on the mouth of his partner.

"Thank you to the St. Louis Rams and the whole city of St. Louis," Michael Sam tweeted after hearing the good news. "I'm using every [ounce] of this to achieve greatness!!"

Interestingly, a long stretch of gay bars from the city of Angels to the borough of Queens reportedly celebrated with Sam after he got selected by The Rams as the 249th overall pick.

"He wasn't picked because he's gay; he was picked because he has talent," quipped 32-year-old Jordan Willard, who was one of the celebrating crowd at the Pride Restaurant Lounge in Forest Hills. "I think with him coming out and now being drafted as an openly gay player, he's going to show gay youth it's okay to be comfortable in your own skin and aspire to what you want to be."

According to Silive.com, when NFL Vice President of Game Operations Mike Kensil walked to the podium to announce the penultimate pick of the Rams, the crowd sensed that something was up.

When Kensil said, "The St. Louis Rams select... Michael Sam..." a large number of fans gave a hearty but thundering cheer for the openly gay player, shouting: "Yes! Yes! Yes! Michael Sam!"

Back at the San Diego home of Sam's agent, Joe Barkett of Empire Athletes, he was watching the NFL Draft with friends and family, and his special someone, his boyfriend.

ESPN and the NFL Network cameras were on stand-by inside Barkett's home to capture Michael Sam's reaction.

In the video taken by ESPN and the NFL Network, Sam could be seen talking over the phone while his boyfriend was hugging him and rubbing his left bicep. After the phone call, Sam could be seen in tears as he gave an intense kiss to his boyfriend prior to hugging him tight.

Sam played defensive end in college, but now the 255-pound player is said to be short for that position in the NFL and slower than most outside linebackers, critics said.

Meanwhile, St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher claims he sees potential in Sam.

"We drafted a good football player. I'm excited to get him on the practice field and get him going," Fisher said. "In a world of diversity that we live in, I'm honored to be a part of this."

Michael Sam opened up about his sexuality in February after completing his senior year.

"I am an openly, proud gay man," he said. "I understand how big this is. It's a big deal. No one has done this before. And it's kind of a nervous process, but I know what I want to be... I want to be a football player in the NFL."

Just recently, news about Michael Sam having a boyfriend surfaced when MediaTakeOut uploaded photos of the openly gay player snapping a selfie with another man. However, it was not confirmed if the man was indeed Sam's boyfriend, or if he was the same guy the player kissed after hearing the NFL Draft news.

As of late, no one has revealed the identity of Michael Sam's boyfriend.
