The iPhone 6 is about to hit the smartphone market anytime soon, and Apple Inc. has absolutely kept every detail under wraps. However, this does not mean experts, critics, and the general consumer would not know a thing or two on what they can expect from the next iPhone, or possibly iPhones.
The rumor mill on the iPhone 6 is currently filled with a number of claims and projections on how the next Apple smartphone would look like and how it is going to blow other high-end devices out of the water, performance-wise.
Ever since the release of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, reports that the upcoming iPhone is going to be way better than all of its predecessors not only in terms of speed, but also in terms of design, form, and size.
TIME magazine recently released its official rumor roundup feature on the iPhone 6, and the famous publication has learned that the next iPhone might just be the biggest Apple smartphone yet by sporting a 4.7 inch screen. TIME also got exclusive leaked info from 9to5Mac that compared to the 4-inch iPhones with 1136x640 resolution screen, the upcoming installment will sport 1704x960 resolution display.
Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac is well-known for reporting credible details on every upcoming Apple device before they are officially announced to the public, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Now, aside from the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 that is on the works, another variant is said to be on the way as well. Gurman stated in his report that Apple is actually working on 5.5-inch screens as of late.
However, Apple has declined to comment on Gurman's report that claims two iPhone 6 variants are soon to be unveiled.
The setback with larger screens, on the other hand, is something that is too big to be neglected. Salvador Rodriguez of the Sydney Morning Herald said, "A higher resolution would also mean that developers would have to go back and optimise their apps for the new iPhone 6 screens." Interestingly, Gurman also dished that Apple is actually starting to optimize its apps for the new resolution.
When it comes to design and form factor, leaked schematics from Apple supplier Foxconn hint that the iPhone 6 will come in a much thinner aluminum chassis and curvier corners. To match the brand new look, reports said the main reason why Apple has partnered with GT Advanced Technologies was to secure the production of high quality sapphire glass, which is said to be the material Apple is going to use on the display of the device - making it more resistant to considerable damage.
In terms of speed, the iPhone 6 is rumored to pack in the same processor for the same rate of efficiency in loading apps and other functions. Nevertheless, 9to5Mac reported that the A8 processor Apple is working on for its next iPhone installment will pretty much focus on providing more power or fuel to the device for an improved battery life.
Other specs and features of the iPhone 6 are clearly concealed from public knowledge, but a number of rumors claim that there will be more advanced features that were never part of the previous installments.
Finally, for release timing, TIME reports that the consensus amongst rumors point to a September launch, but an August release could also be a possibility. Still, there are a few, who speculate that the iPhone 6 is actually going to be unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with market release a few days after.
