Shailene Woodley and Theo James are dating... Not! The rising actress, who recently starred in 'Divergent' and upcoming 'The Fault in Our Stars' has finally opened up about her dating exploits, and she has even made it clear that she is not dating Theo James, or Ansel Elgort, or anyone else for that matter.
It is not surprising that Shailene Woodley and Theo James became the instant hot item on the Web following their successful movie 'Divergent.' Because of their undeniable on-screen chemistry, media outlets and fans started to speculate and spread rumors that the two young actors are possibly seeing each other off-cam.
The dating rumors between the two are a little bit odd since Theo James had already confirmed that he is not available at the moment as he is loyal to his girlfriend, Ruth Kearney.
Despite James' efforts to end the widespread gossip about his alleged romance with Shailene Woodley, many wouldn't still believe the actor's words.
Thus, it is perhaps the right time for Shailene Woodley to address the rumors. And address them she did.
In one of her recent interviews, the 'Divergent' lead actress dished that she is not dating anyone as of the moment, and she even hinted that she has no plans of dating another actor.
"I have zero expectations and zero rules. I'm open," Woodley told InStyle magazine, adding that she has no plans of being romantic with someone with an acting background.
"I can't see it being another actor, except that they understand this lifestyle. Hey I could fall in love with an Aussie and move to Australia. Who knows!" she added.
So now that Woodley has spoken on the issue, it is perhaps very clear now that she and James were never a couple.
Now aside from addressing the dating rumors, Shailene Woodley also talked about her upcoming film "The Fault In Our Stars," the movie adaptation of John Greene's bestseller by the same name.
In the movie, Woodley plays Hazel, the protagonist who is living a depressed life of a cancer-stricken patient until she meets Augustus.
Woodley said that the role changed her perspective towards life.
"It changed my whole life and put things in perspective. I realized I was good at being outwardly positive because that's how I am by nature. But internally? I was so mean to myself," the young actress explained.
"Realizing I needed to make a shift was a big moment for me. 'F--k you, insecurity. F--k you, lack of confidence! When I finally realized I have to live life for myself and not for anyone else is when I started being more generous and kind and grateful. I was able to give back more," she added.
In "The Fault In Our Stars," Shailene Woodley plays lead opposite Ansel Elgort, who is also being romantically linked to her by other entertainment rumors. But the two actors have already clarified that they are "just friends."
"The Fault In Our Stars" is directed by Josh Boone, and it is set to hit theaters in the US come June 6.
