Tim Duncan's girlfriend, Vanessa Macias, is now involved in the ongoing feud between NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and the women of San Antonio.
Macias was seen on national TV wearing a custom-made T-shirts with "Barkley Don't Know" print on it. Although the women seen on TV were not given the opportunity to explain what the T-Shirt means, it was reportedly their answer to Barkley's recent statement against San Antonio women.
Barkley earned the ire of the women of San Antonio when he said that the San Antonio is a gold mine for weight watchers, referring to overweight women living in the area.
"There's some big 'ol women down there," Barkley said. "That's a gold mine for Weight Watchers." He added, "Victoria is definitely a secret. They can't wear no Victoria's Secret down there."
When Barkley was informed about the video showing Macias and a group of girls wearing the "Barkley Don't Know" T-shirt, the TNT analysts took another swipe, saying that the woman seen in the footage, Macias, was not from San Antonio.
"That woman ain't from here! They flew her in from Dallas! I guarantee you, those girls are not from San Antonio, they flew her in from Houston or Dallas," Barkley said.
San Antonio Express-News digital news editor Elizabeth Zavala also wrote an open letter, criticizing Barkley for his insults directed to the women of San Antonio, and the well-known landmark in the area.
"Seriously, did you think you'd make your wife, your daughter proud? What would your momma say? Or, how about the women who run Weight Watchers? Don't they write you a check, spokesman?" Zavala wrote. "Listen, Round Mound of Rebound, you are not skinny, and you are no Tim Duncan. But, the women of San Antonio won't despair."
But while he has been receiving a lot criticisms over the past several days because of his insulting remarks, Barkley told his critics that he will not issue an apology.
"If you don't like me or the show, turn it off," Barkley said. "If y'all waiting on me to apologize, Hell gonna freeze over."
