Citigroup Inc. (C.N) paid $250 million to taxpayer-owned Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) and Freddie Mac (FMCC.OB) to settle a lawsuit over soured mortgage securities, the regulator of the two housing finance firms said on Thursday.
