'Fifty Shades of Grey' UPDATE: Jamie Dornan Not Returning For 'Darker?' Leonardo DiCaprio Tapped to Play Christian Grey Next?

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' official trailer has been dropped, and, instantly, actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson received rave reviews from fans, who are now more enthusiastic to watch the film right away. While Johnson plays plain Anastasia Steele, Dornan has been getting props for effectively delivering the titular BDSM-addict character. However, it seems the model-turned-actor might not be coming back for the succeeding installments, and Dornan himself has hinted about it.
In April, the "Once Upon A Time" actor revealed that he is now tired of doing the same sadistic act of "tying women up" and taking advantage of them, according to FashionnStyle.
"There are a couple of classic knots I know now and I've put them to good use far too many times recently." the 32-year-old actor gushed to The Guardian that time. "In fact I'd like to do a job where I don't have to tie women to beds."
Dornan was obviously talking about how his roles for the 2015 movie and BBC's "The Fall in Belfast" have a lot of similarities. On 'Fifty Shades of Grey' the actor plays 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey. On the other hand, he plays a notorious serial killer on BBC's show.
"Right now I don't need to work if there's nothing that I want to do. I've done three jobs back to back. Let's see how they are received. If there's nothing I want to do, I'll just play golf and change nappies," Dornan added.
Because of Dornan's statements several sites including EntertainmentWise, FashionnStyle and Yahoo Movies UK have noted that it's very possible that Dornan will be leaving the franchise after the first installment gets released on Valentine's Day next year.
When he does, 'Fifty Shades of Grey' author E.L. James and Sam Taylor-Johnson would be compelled to look for potential Hollywood actors to take on the role in Dornan's absence.
Yahoo Movies UK has already released its top pick for the next Christian Grey on the second movie adaptation 'Fifty Shades Darker.
'Titanic' actor Leonardo DiCaprio is on top of the list while Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levitt tail along. Nevertheless, the news site has admitted that this is just an if/then case, which simply means if Jamie Dornan is indeed leaving the franchise, another actor will be tasked to satisfy Johnson's Anastasia Steele on-screen.
The rumor is Leonardo DiCaprio replacing Jamie Dornan further heightened when producer Dana Brunetti said that there is still no clear master plan for the succeeding "Fifty Shades' films.
"I have no idea. I jave no idea yet. We haven't even started discussing that yet. We just want to get this one wrapped and get it cut. We'll see the cut, see how it goes, and once it's released, we'll start discussing what happens next, Brunett said.
'Fifty Shades of Grey' is to hit theaters several months from now, specifically Feb. 13, 2015.
Do you think Jamie Dornan is indeed departing from the 'Fifty Shades' franchise? How about your thoughts on the possibility that DiCaprio might be replacing Dornan in the other "Fifty Shades" movies? Sound off in the comments section below.
Both Dornan and his rep have not confirmed or denied the issue as of late.
