Jennette McCurcdy's 'role model' rant surely made huge waves on the Internet just a few minutes after the Nick star posted it on Reddit. Because of its rather downright honest though disturbing message however, many are now compelled to believe that Jennette McCurdy's 'role model' rant was directed at someone. Could it be "Problem" singer Ariana Grande?
At the end of McCurdy's rant she said, "This world is one seemingly most keen on judgment and negativity, despite all the hearts and smiley emoticons." If one is to look at Ariana Grande's Twitter feed, she always likes to use "hearts" and "smileys." Plus the fact that the two are said to be quarrelling hence the cancellation of their show "Sam & Cat," we couldn't help that it's very possible for McCurdy to hit back at Grande, who obviously missed out her co-star in her "thank you" message after the show's cancellation news broke.
And this is not something new to McCurdy, who has made headlines because of her Twitter posts that are more often than not directed at somebody like what happened after that time she broke up with Andre Drummond.
Anyhow, in Jennette McCurdy's 'role model' rant the young actress surely made a great point for all fans who think celebrities are the best role models for them.
"I am not a role model. I don't claim to be, I don't try to be, and I don't want to be," Jennette McCurdy opened for 'role model' rant. "There was a time when I tried to live up to the aggrandizing title, that pedestal of a thing."
"In order to be thought of as a real, true role model, I believe you have to know a person and their actions, inside and out. Calling a celebrity a role model is like calling a stranger a role model. The knowledge you have of a celebrity is no more than a caricature drawn by media tastemakers specializing in selling you an image you're dying to buy. It's good to have heroes, but you have to look for them in the right places. They say don't look for true love in a bar, well I say, don't look for role models on screens."
It's clear that Jennette McCurdy is not pleased with people calling celebs their role models, and she's not pleased with the idea that people are buying the image of celebs that the media are creating.
"Back in my adolescence, I was more amiable, bubbly, and on lightly humid days, maybe even flouncy. I was role model material and then some. Fast forward a few years, I've grown up a bit (emphasis on "a bit"). I might not be any wiser, but I like to think I'm more honest. With the growing I've done, I realize that to attempt to live up to the idea of being a role model is to set myself up for foregone failure. Sure, I've made some mistakes, but even if I hadn't, people would have found invisible ones. This world is one seemingly most keen on judgment and negativity, despite all the hearts and smiley emoticons."
Surely, McCurdy wanted to emphasize that she has only grown up "a bit." Were the leaked racy photos (selfies) of her part of this growing up transition she says?
For the most part, Jennette McCurdy's 'role model' rant is something that has veracity and credibility. Coming from a celeb, Jennette certainly knows the reality behind the limelight.
