Tallest man on earth meets smallest man on earth - The world's tallest and shortest men have met for the first time in London.
Despite the remarkable size difference between them, the tallest man on earth and the shortest man on earth were able to shake hands at the 10th annual Guinness World Record Day on Thursday.
Chandra Bahadur Dangi, the world's shortest living man, measures just 55 centimeters (21.5 inches). The 75-year-old was reportedly discovered in his home country of Nepal last year.
Meanwhile, the tallest man, 31-year-old Sultan Kosen, hails from Turkey. He stands at 2.51 meters (8-feet,9 inches) tall.
"I was very interested how tall he was going to be, about how far up my legs he would go, and of course once I saw him I realized how tiny he was, "Kosen said in a statement.
Kosen noted that he was happy to be at the event, where the tallest man on earth meets smallest man on earth, because they can understand each other's struggles with height, although in different ways.
"Even though he is short and I am tall, we have had similar struggles throughout our lives and when I look into Chandra's eyes, I can see he's a good man," he said. "I love London and to be able to meet Chandra after all this time is amazing."
The shortest living man on earth also described the meeting with the tallest man on earth as special.
"It's been a lifelong dream to travel and becoming a Guinness World Records title holder has enabled me to do that," he said. "I was very pleased to see the tallest man in the world; I was curious to meet my extreme opposite."
The tallest man on earth met the smallest man on earth on a day when several other new Guinness World records were set, including the farthest basketball shot made backwards and the largest high heeled shoe.
