If the numbers on your mega millions lottery ticket are 46, 23, 38, 4, 2 and megaball 23 then you have won the jackpot worth $640 million -- the largest lottery jackpot in world history.
According to Mega Millions website, lottery officials will verify early Saturday morning whether there are any winning tickets.
Millions of Americans who want to be multi-millionaires had been holding their collective breath to see whether the number they have selected for the largest lottery jackpot would win them a whopping $640-million prize.
If no winner claims the winning number Friday night then the lottery money will be increased to $975 million for next Tuesday's draw.
In the last 48 hours more than 400 million Mega Millions tickets were sold, but the chances of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are approximately one in 176 million.
The jackpot has been growing since Jan. 24, and has rolled 18 times without a winner. However, earlier today the jackpot price shot up from $540 million to $640 million.
The previous jackpot was in March 2007 with a record amount of $390 million. However, the money was later divided between two winners who purchased tickets in Georgia and New Jersey.
The winner will have two options to take the jackpot home. The first is to take the immediate cash which will come up to $462 million after deducting taxes and the other option is to take the full amount annually for over a period of 26 years.
"Friday night's Mega Millions drawing will truly be a spectacular event in lottery history and provides an unprecedented opportunity for players to take a chance on a half-billiondollar dream for just the $1 price of a ticket," said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery and lead director for the Mega Millions group.
