NBC ‘Parks and Recreation’ Final Season Confirmed New Time Slot and Back to Back Episodes

NBC has revealed that the seventh and final season of the series will begin on Jan. 13 at 8 PM, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The final season will have13 back-to back episodes and will air every Tuesday from 8 to 9 PM. The finale will conclude on Feb. 24.
NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt expressed his gratitude for the whole cast and crew "Mike Schur and Amy Poehler, along with their incredible producers, cast, and crew, have given us one of the great television comedies of all time, and we're inordinately proud of Parks and Recreation," said Greenblatt.
The chairman wanted the series to end with a bang. The decision was made to draw more audience for the network's strongest comedy series, Screen Rant reported.
"In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to 'eventize' the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level. The highly anticipated one-hour finale will air behind "The Voice" in order to lead the largest audience possible into what promises to be a very special hour of television," Greenblatt added, according to TV Line.
Meanwhile, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke agreed with the chairman's statement.
"Critics, viewers and all of us at NBC fell in love with this endearing, funny, heartfelt show and its authentic cast of characters. After seven amazing seasons, saying goodbye to the folks of Pawnee will be bittersweet, so we want to give the show and its fans the most impactful final season possible," Salke said, E Online reported.
In the finale of Season 6, Leslie played by Amy Poehlr and Ben portrayed by Adam Scott are parents of triplets in 2017. Guest stars John Hamm, Ben Schwartz, Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe will return in Season 7.
"Parks and Recreation" cast includes Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Jim O'Heir and Retta.
