"Fantastic Four" reboot has revealed the plot for upcoming movie with a twist from the original one, International Business Times reported.

Film review site Rotten Tomatoes has published Marvel's synopsis for the retelling of "Fantastic Four. Four young individuals are transported into another world, which transforms them into superheroes. The team must face a friend turned enemy and work together to save the earth.

Followers of the comics may be familiar with Doctor Doom as the friend turned enemy.  However, the villain will be called Victor Domashev in the reboot. The character is a computer geek and hacker who despises Dr. Franklin Storm, father of the two lead heroes, according to Movie Web.

The reboot is based on the "Ultimate Fantastic Four" comics, which features younger characters.  Producer and scriptwriter Simon Kinberg has described how unique the movie is from the original one.

"We are hopefully going to be refining the way the people see the Fantastic Four movies. There are so many things we are doing different from the previous film and so many things different from other comic books films," Kinberg said, according to Mirror.

In addition, the setting of the film is reportedly at the same universe in "X-Men" movies.  Kinberg is also the scriptwriter for the hit franchise. "I would love to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four team up if only because I'm a fan and certainly it's something we've thought about and talked about," Kinberg added.

As to how different it is from the original movie, Michael B. Jordan who plays as the Human Torch revealed that the story will be all about character exploration.

"It'll be about the characters. We're getting down to the nuts and bolts of acting, with this larger-than-life 'bigger world' idea. So it's going to be pretty cool," Jordan said.

Aside from Jordan, the movie cast includes Kate Mara as Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell as Thing.

"Fantastic Four" will open in theatres on Aug. 7, 2015.
