2014 is coming to an end and mash up artist DJ Earworm released a compilation of the best songs of the year, MTV News reported.
"United State of Pop 2014" is the album title which includes the mash up "Do What You Wanna Do" by DJ Earworm. The jam contains 25 songs from various artists.
Earworm revealed the songs are diverse since electronic dance music popularity has declined. "The thing that has been most notable in the past two or three years is the decline of EDM," the DJ said.
The 2014 compilation featured ballad, hip-hop, electronic music and folk, which created a unique sound compared to the DJ's previous works. Slow songs such as Christina Aguilera's "Say Something", John Legend's "All of Me" and "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel are included in the mash up, according to The Verge.
Hip-hop hits such as "Don't Tell Em" by Jeremih and YG and "Talk Dirty" by Jason Derulo are prominent sounds in the track. Earworm did not forget the top pop songs of the year "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift, "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea and "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry.
Aside from the female artists mentioned, ten more ladies dominate the track. This year, female artists topped the US pop charts and created a record of an all women top 5 "Billboard's Hot 100 Chart" for seven straight weeks.
Furthermore, the jam combined global artists such as the biggest UK performers namely Rita Ora, Jessie J and One Direction. Lorde from New Zealand, Magic! from Canada and Nico & Vinz from Norway are also present creating a unique tune for the mash up, according to The Guardian.
DJ Earworm a.k.a Jordan Roseman's creations are always anticipated as the year ends. The 2009 mix garnered the most views of all his tracks with a record of over 44 million.
Meanwhile, music lovers can watch the "Do What You Wanna Do" video on YouTube that gained over 2 million views as of this time.
