‘Star Wars' Teaser Leads The Most Watched Trailers on Youtube, Gains Million Interactions On Facebook

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" teaser gained 16 million interactions on Facebook after the clip was released on Nov. 28, Inquisitr reported.

Seventy two hours after the teaser was released on Nov. 28, the excitement for the sequel was evident as over eight million fans shared the video on Facebook. Other than that, followers of the series discussed the teaser and a total of 16.7 million interactions were recorded.

In addition, the 88-second clip gained 63 million views on YouTube, which makes it the number one most watched teaser on its first week.  "Jurassic World" trailer came in second with a total of 55,193,779 views.

The sneak peek of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is on the third place with 50,668,165 views. The R-rated movie "Fifty Shaded of Grey" trailer was viewed 36,401,794 million times. Finally, "Minion" official trailer came in last with 35,185,191 hits.

Even celebrities expressed their excitement via Twitter for the upcoming film. "Pitch Perfect" star, Anna Kendrick posted on the site:  "STAR WARS!!!!! Language and emojis fail to express what's in my heart at this moment," according to The Wrap.

Canadian writer, director and producer  Mohit Rajhans also shared his enthusiasm on social media and wrote:  " 6 yr old 'Can we watch the #ForceAwakens trailer again?' Me 'yes son yes we can."

As the anticipation heats up, fans created parodies and video reactions for the film. "Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens Official Teaser Trailer 1 Reaction Mashup" was published on YouTube to show the various reactions of the franchise's devoted followers.

Amidst all the hype of the science fiction movie, "Star Wars" creator George Lucas revealed that he has not seen the teaser. "I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen it yet," Lucas said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Fans were disappointed about his reaction but he explained that he would rather see the film on theatres. "I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it's released," Lucas added.  The retired director sold his company Lucasfilm to Walt Disney in 2012.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will open in cinemas on Dec 18, 2015.
