Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, Stevie Wonder's girlfriend, gave birth to a baby girl on Dec. 17. The legendary singer named her daughter, Nia, which means "purpose," as based on one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. As reported, the newborn baby is Stevie Wonder's ninth child.
Tomeeka Robyn Bracy's daughter Nia is the couple's second child together. However, the 64-year-old singer, Stevie Wonder had already been a father to seven other children from previous relationships, ranging from ages nine to 39, In Touch Weekly reported.
Last month, Stevie Wonder confirmed that he and his girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy were expecting a baby in an interview with The View. According to The Daily Mail, Wonder has taken inspiration from being a father. Back in 1975, the award-winning musician wrote his hit song, "Isn't She Lovely," about his first child Aisha Morris by girlfriend Yolanda Simmons.
In Wonder's interview with The View, the legendary singer was eager to set the record straight about the Page Six's speculation that he was expecting triplets, Us Weekly reported.
"Whoopi, it's so hard for me these days. That's why I'm going on the road. I got, how many, 22 kids?" Wonder joked then clarified, "It's not true."
"The truth is we're going to have a wonderful daughter, born in December, [and her] name is going to be Nia, which is 'purpose,'" the singer added before saying, "And like I said in the song 'Superstition,' 'When you believe in things you don't understand, you suffer [in reference to the triplets rumor],'" he then sang before adding, "So, you know, that's a bunch of a bull."
In 2012, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy and Stevie Wonder got together after his divorce to fashion designer Kai Millard Morris. According to E! News, the divorce was filed after two children and 11 years of marriage.
Before Tomeeka Robyn Bracy's relationship to Stevie Wonder, the acclaimed singer was previously married to Syreeta Wright from 1970 to 1971 and Karen "Kai" Millard Morris from 2001 until 2012.
