"Agent Carter" is an upcoming action-adventure, science-fiction ABC television series inspired by the movies "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the Marvel One-Shot short film of the same title. Sharing the continuity of the movie franchises, Marvel's "Agent Carter" is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the new "Agent Carter" poster that ABC released, lead character Peggy Carter played by Haywell Atwell, who will be reprising her role from the movie series, showed her badass pose as she makes her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon, People reported.

Marvel's "Agent Carter" depicts Peggy as she balances administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark, played by Dominic Cooper, while attempting to navigate life as a single woman in the United States during the 1940 period. Throughout the series, several characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe movies will be expected to make an appearance.

Aside from the poster, ABC also teases the public with a sneak preview for the premiering first episode of "Agent Carter." According to Screen Rant, Peggy gets ready to go out when her roommate Colleen, played by Ashley Hinshaw, arrives home from a factory work. In the wake of the World War II, Colleen discovers her job is threatened as men come home from the War.

In the ABC new series, other Hollywood actors are also featured including Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Shea Whigham and James D'Arcy as Jarvis, the butler of Howard Stark.

According to ABC, the series' two-hour debut episodes are entitled, "Now is Not the End" and "Bridge and Tunnel." As reported by Screen Crush and based on the network's official description, in the first episode "Now is Not the End," Peggy Carter is contacted by Howard Stark when he is framed for releasing his most lethal weapons.

While in the episode, "Bridge and Tunnel," Stark's deadliest weapon fell into the hands of the enemy where only Agent Peggy Carter can recover it.

Meanwhile, "Agent Carter" has already been tantalizing the public during "Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." And ABC have also been airing several clips in the last few months. The new 8-episode series will be aired while "Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." is on season two mid-season break, as reported by Digital Spy.
