Lost Luggage Found 20 Years Later - A Texas woman was pushed to the limit of incredulity when she received a call from the airport about her luggage that went missing about 20 years ago.
Maria Dellos says she initially ignored the call because she thought it was from advertisers. When she eventually picked the phone and was told about her lost bag, she immediately thought it was a luggage she lost in August. But no, it was a bag she lost in 1994!
Dellos, who owns an art shop, says the lost luggage found 20 years later contains some art supplies she purchased while attending an exhibition at Las Vegas. "This is product, art product, very valuable stuff," she said. According to KVOC, the items in the lost luggage found 20 years later is estimated to be worth about $600.
It is unclear why officials at the airport - who have been intelligent to keep mum about the story - are just finding Dellos' bag.
Transportation Security Aviation spokesperson Nico Melendez, who admitted that the incident predates the agency, says the lost luggage found 20 years later may be showing up now because some equipments at the airport were been moved around recently. It is unclear if the items returned are still in usable condition.
Cases of travelers losing their bags are pretty common, but after a few months no one really imagines that their property could still be intact somewhere. The story of the lost luggage found 20 years later has gone viral online. Many critics have questioned why Dellos has failed to initiate legal action against the airport since the company was clearly at fault.
Meanwhile, a grateful Dellos, says the fact that her lost luggage was found after 20 years has restored her faith in the airline industry.
