Spanish football giant Real Madrid is targeting Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus, who will likely replace striker Gareth Bale when the Danish national makes his expected transfer to English football powerhouse Manchester United for £120M.
The Telegraph reported on Monday that Madrid is all set to make another big splash during the transfer period with their eyes set sight on the 25-year old Reus.
Reus, who is the main gunner for Borussia Dorthmund for the past three seasons, is viewed by many football followers as the man who will potentially fill the void at the wing position when Real Madrid sells Bale to Man United for roughly $120M.
"Real Madrid are planning to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Gareth Bale, who could be on his way to United for £120m," the Star reported via the Telegraph.
Liverpool Targets Edinson Cavani
The Reds have been dealing bad lucks for the past seven months with striker Luis Suarez and Mario Balotelli both meted with suspensions due to misbehaviors on and off the pitch.
With Liverpool desperately looking for offensive firepower, Brendan Rodgers is trying to pull off another coup by bringing Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani from Paris-Saint Germain.
Cavani is having a rough time in his one and half year stay in the French capital, and a change of environment might be necessary to reignite his football career.
"Arsenal are closing in on the signing of striker Edinson Cavani from Paris St-Germain, with the French club ready to accept a bid," Metro reported via the Telegraph.
Chelsea Make Their Moves
Another scenario football followers are monitoring is a potential move by longtime Blues goaltender Peter Cech to Real Madrid. According to sources, Cech's representatives are currently in talks with Los Blancos for a potential free-transfer deal.
Meanwhile, former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas urged Jose Mourinho and Chelsea's brain trust to start making their move in acquiring Lionel Messi, who could be bought on a transfer fee worth as much as £200M.
"{Per Cech's agent has confirmed talks have taken place between the Chelsea goalkeeper and Real Madrid. Cesc Fabregas has urged Chelsea to sign £200m Lionel Messi from Barcelona," the Express reported.
