NBA Rumors: Lakers Set To Make Move for Goran Dragic, Reggie Jackson in Coming Weeks

The Los Angeles Lakers will very likely make a move over the next few weeks, especially with their postseason chances now in rubbles. According to Basketball Insiders writer Jabari Davis, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchack might try to send his trade chips such as Jeremy Lin, Ed Davis and Jordan Hill in an attempt to upgrade the point guard position.
The Lakers have been searching for their 'point guard of the future' for quite some time now, and there are rumblings that the team's front office will look to plug that hole via trade.
Davis thinks the Lakers will have a tough task in trading for All-Star caliber playmaker at this point of the season, but they will nevertheless attempt to make a push for the likes of Michael Carter-Williams of the Philadelphia 76ers, Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns, and Reggie Jackson of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"Honestly, while it wouldn't necessarily prevent them from losing that pick, I would seriously consider pursuing a young guard if I were them. Whether it is trying to find a way to snag a guy like MCW from Philly, offering a former U of A product in Jordan Hill to Phoenix for Dragic (whom I think is gone after this season), or even trying to find a way to steal Reggie Jackson (maybe taking Perkins back in the deal) from OKC," Davis stressed.
"I think that's the move. They've made no secret about looking for a suitable PG for several years now, so it also wouldn't shock me to see them find one."
Davis stated that the Lakers might capitalize on the growing demands for big man, leaving power forwards Jordan Hill and Ed Davis as likely trade candidates. Moreover, trading Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin could also be in play, because of their huge expiring contracts ($18M combined), which would benefit teams looking to dip below the salary cap or tax threshold.
