Windows 10 was launched by Microsoft on Jan. 21, 2015, Wednesday. It was a monumental day for the software company as it unveiled its newest Windows platform. This new operating system has all the glitz and glam of tech modernization as it uses Cortana and Spartan as part of the platform.

The newest Microsoft Windows 10 will be available for free later this year to all Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1 users. However, the price of the Windows 10 has yet to be confirmed as reported by The Telegraph.

Here are the things that we need to know about the new Windows 10:

First, Windows 10 uses the Cortana, Microsoft voice-powered digital assistant. It has its own user interface which Microsoft's Joe Belfiore referred to as a "natural", according to Polygon. It is like having a super personal assistant that is ready to help and give assistance anytime you need. Cortana first arrived last year on Microsoft mobile devices with Windows Phone 8.1 update.

Second, Spartan is also part of Microsoft Windows 10. It was announced on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Microsoft "The Next Chapter" event as its new browser for the Windows 10 operating system referred to as Project Spartan, according to NDTV Gadgets.

Project Spartan will be the successor of the Internet Explorer. However, Microsoft has yet to reveal details whether the Project Spartan browser will be the next version of Internet Explorer or will it be rebranded with a new name.

The Project Spartan includes Cortana integration, synchronized with reading list and web page annotation.

Since Windows 8 was launched in 2012, Microsoft Windows 10 is the first major operating system upgrade. Software mogul Microsoft understood that Windows 8 was not well-received by users but most features of the Windows 10 will reflect it. The new Windows 10 has the same feel and familiar experience with Windows 7 however, it has made some innovative changes to the PC that tablet and smartphones have been accustomed into.

Because of the latest Windows 10, Microsoft has indeed launched a one of a kind operating system upgrade. And with the incorporation of Cortana and Spartan, it will make a great and new technological experience that all devoted Windows users will surely enjoy.
