Glen Rock Bank Robbery - Authorities in New Jersey say a suspect wearing, sunglasses and a bright pink wig has made away with over $100,000 after holding up a local bank at gun point.
According to reports, the incident happened on Wednesday morning around 10 a.m., when the suspect whose gender has not be identified walked into the Glen Rock Savings Bank located in Glen Rock and pointed a medium size gun at the teller, demanding money.
"The employees were very scared, but they followed bank procedure and did what the suspect asked them to do," said Glen Rock Police Chief Frederick Stahman.
The exact amount of money that was stolen is currently unknown, however authorities estimate that the sum is more than $100,000.
Police received distress call around 10:30a.m and when they arrived the robber had ran into Rodney Street where he threw the weapon described as "a paintball type gun."
Authorities say although the suspect still remains at large, the weapon used in the heist has been recovered by investigators who are processing the gun for evidential value.
The gender of the bank robber is still in question, however he or she was caught on the bank's surveillance camera wearing a black coat, white boots and a large handbag.
The Glen Bank robber, who is said to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build, also wore black gloves during the heist at the bank located on 183 Road.
Detective James Calaski said "initial reports were that the suspect was female. However, we are not ruling anything out."
Officials called on the public to help with information regarding the location or whereabout of the suspect.
If you have information about the robbery please call Calaski at (201) 670-3948 or Detective Sgt. Eric Reamy at (201) 670-3947.
