Emily "Cissy" Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston, has decided to write a memoir in remembrance of her daughter Whitney.

Houston has a deal with HarperCollins Publishers for the book that will highlight all aspects, good and bad, of the singer's life. Houston hopes that this will serve as a keepsake for fans.

"When I lost my daughter Nippy (Whitney Houston's nickname), the world lost one of the most beautiful voices and an extraordinarily beautiful and charitable woman,'' Cissy Houston said in a statement released by HarperCollins. "In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter's true story."

A representative from HarpersCollins told the Washington Post "She will tell the unabridged and unbelievable story of her daughter's life as well as her own, addressing Whitney's brightest and darkest moments while helping fans around the world understand the complexities of this extraordinary star who died much too soon."

Financial information in regards to the profits of the memoir have not been released, however it has been decided that a portion of the sales will be donated to the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. The church is where Whitney Houston sang in her youth and also the location of her funeral this past February.

The book, which is not yet titled, will be released next February, marking the one year anniversary of the singer's death. This is Houston's second memoir written, the first chronicling her own life in her 1998 book How Sweet the Sound.
