New details concerning Apple's new operating system, the iOS 6, have leaked. It reveals that Apple has expanded the privacy controls for user contacts, something that the company was definitely criticized for earlier in the year.

According to CNET, the iOS 6, which will have over 200 features, will have privacy controls for user contacts. Apple will offer its users a way to control which applications have permission to access their contact information as part of a new privacy control panel that is impending.

As indicated by MacRumors, the feature comes in tandem with a new privacy pop-up that asks whether users want to give a particular app admission to contacts.

The new security feature would require more in the way of user interaction to use certain parts of an application, however adds the competency to more precisely limit what types of information are shared with applications.

There aren't much details as of yet, but it can be noted that back in February, Apple did state that it would add such a feature as part of a "future software release."

The iOS 6 will be released this fall.
