Excitement is running high as Marvel's "Ant-Man" is about to hit theaters on July 17. For many, this is the first time that they will see Ant-Man in action.
Paul Rudd plays the role of Ant-Man and his alter ego, Scott Lang. Forbes reported that the actor is very bankable and that he is very capable of making the film a blockbuster.
"Ant-Man" is anticipated to be on par with or may even topple "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger" and their $65 million opening weekend.
Compared to other lead characters of the Marvel franchise, Rudd already has a following as a comedic actor. It is going to be interesting watching someone who played roles in movies such as "Dinner for Schmucks" and "Wanderlust" become a reluctant superhero.
Watching the "Ant-Man" trailer, one can easily see that it is a perfect role for Rudd. The trailer is funny and his timing is perfect. It seem as though the role is written for him.
Coming Soon.net showed the trailer and it does mention other members of the Avengers. The trailer also showed fans what they can expect from the movie — incredible effects comparable to "Iron Man."
Slashfilm.com reported that Ant-Man is actually one of the founding members of the Avengers, but the movie probably changed its storyline. This is apparent when in the trailer, Dr. Hank Pym, played by actor Michael Douglas, is trying to tell Scott Lang (Rudd) that trouble is coming and Lang says, "I guess our first move should be calling the Avengers." It remains to be seen if there's going to be a cameo or not.
Ant-Man, as the name suggests, wears a suit that is very similar to the body of an ant. Aside from that, the suit will enable Scott to shrink and gain incredible strength. Now, that is interesting.
