10 Jobs You Can Get Without A College Degree

Earlier this year, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum was criticized for suggesting that a college degree was not necessary for success. However, he may be right about that. Many well-paying jobs hire employees who do not have college degrees. There are even jobs with growth opportunities that hire such applicants.

"Even with a college degree, finding a good job in today's economy is hard and can be very time consuming," said Tony Lee, publisher of CareerCast, to MSNBC.

Of course candidates with a college degree have the opportunity to be paid far more than their counterparts who lack one, but the bright is that those without a degree have no college loans to pay off.

According to the CareerCast report, many of these careers only require employees to go through training. Ten of these jobs that will hire applicants without college degrees include:

1. Dental Hygienist

Average Starting Salary: $45,000

Employment Growth: 37.7 percent

Income Growth: 109 percent

2. Online Advertising Manager

Average Starting Salary: $40,000

Employment Growth: 25 percent

Income Growth: 255 percent

3. Web Developer

Average Starting Salary: $43,000

Employment Growth: 21.7 percent

Income Growth: 179 percent

4. Medical Secretary

Average Starting Salary: $21,000

Employment Growth: 41.3 percent

Income Growth: 114 percent

5. Paralegal Assistant

Average Starting Salary: $29,000

Employment Growth: 18.3 percent

Income Growth: 159 percent

6. Stenographer (Court Reporter)

Average Starting Salary: $26,000

Employment Growth: 14.1 percent

Income Growth: 250 percent

7. Heating/ Refrigeration Mechanic
