Demi Lovato chose to sing her 2013 single "Made in the USA" Saturday night at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game concert to the surprise of fans. Ariana Grande was originally scheduled to perform at the event.
Grande recently made headlines after being caught on tape saying that she hates Americans and also America.
MLB organizers said that Grande had to pull out from the event because she had her wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. Still, it didn't stop social media on the possibility of Lovato dissing Grande, according to E! News.
Lovato made an immediate statement as soon as she heard about the brewing intrigue through tweets. She wasn't pleased at all with fans accusing her of throwing shade at Grande. One of her tweets said that she didn't get to sing "Made in the USA" on the 4th because she was singing "Cool for the Summer." She added that there was no shade so stop the "bulls***t."
But the question that remains to everyone who attended the concert was why Lovato, feeling patriotic during her performance, asked how many of them are proud to be an American.
Hollywood Life said that it was a good move on Lovato for setting the record straight. While some fans were misinterpreting her choice of song as a take against Grande, Lovato was simply expressing her pride of being a part of the great United States. Grande has even apologized twice for the incident. Still, some fans just won't move on.
Lovato had her share of personal struggles. After a battle with bulimia, she has learned to adopt a healthy lifestyle and accept her body, according Daily Mail.
She credits her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama for being instrumental in providing a positive impact on her life, providing her with much-needed support during her eating disorder struggle.
