New updates of the highly anticipated "X-Men: Apocalypse" film include details about its characters, among which are Archangel and Apocalypse.
Bryan Singer, the movie's director seemingly teased fans about Archangel specifically on Thursday, when he posted a photo of himself having some fun behind the scenes. In the snap, Singer, who is wearing a black shirt and jeans, is seen holding an "air guitar" which appears to be one of Archangel's metallic feather blades. He captioned the picture: "Playing air guitar #archangel #xmen #xmenapocalypse," according to Cinema Blend.
Archangel is just one of the many mutants featured in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Before becoming one of Apocalypse's four horsemen (Death), he was known as Warren Worthington III a.k.a. Angel (Ben Hardy) in the comics. An encounter however, destroyed Warren's feathered wings causing him to eventually cut them off. At one point, he almost got killed by an old enemy but was saved by Apocalypse, who offered to restore Warren's wings with the condition that he becomes one of the Egyptian mutant's Four Horsemen. After accepting Apocalypse's offer, he was corrupted and changed into Archangel, and was also given powerful metallic wings.
In the "X-Men: Apocalypse" movie, Warren or Angel will be seen battling opponents at a Berlin fight club. He will be recruited as one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen alongside Storm, Psylocke and Magneto.
Meanwhile, more photos from the movie were recently released by Entertainment Weekly, Den of Geek has learned. The shots captured Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee).
As for Hardy as Angel, no official photos of him were released so far. Concepts of what the character's metallic wings will look like were revealed earlier this year though.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit theaters May 27, 2016, Comingsoon.net reported.
