It was announced today that Apple would be selling its latest iPad in China, in July.
According to Nasdaq, China is Apple's second-largest market behind the United States, but the company has been slow to release the new iPad, which has already come out in most developed countries and many other developing countries including Venezuela and Malaysia. However, an Apple device compatible with China Unicom's mobile network in May received a network access license, a regulatory website showed, which suggested Apple was close to being able to sell its new iPad in China.
The coast is now legally clear for the tablet after the company secured rights to use the iPad name. The pricing for the new iPad has not been confirmed for the Chinese market, however, the iPad 2 is on sale at 2,988 Chinese yuan ($469).
In the meantime, rumors are still circulating bout the supposed iPad Mini, set to be released in United States in the fall. The iPad has continued to show success and currently dominates the tablet market.
The new iPad will go on sale in China on July 20.
