‘Tony Hawk 5’ UPDATE: ‘Pro Skater’ Underwent A Makeover; Did The Cel Shades Work?

"Tony Hawk 5" underwent a major makeover after receiving a thumbs down feedback from gamers, so the development team altered the visuals of the new "Pro Skater" by cel or commonly known as toon shading.
How did it go? Based from the recent reviews, it may have not gone too well.
"Tony Hawk 5" footage was released a few weeks back, and game critics have already noticed the visual failures. The environment looked dismal, and according to Forbes, the shadows were off, physics were also off and for a game that's supposed to be released early this fall, it looked unfinished.
After doing the cel shading, it had a significant improvement — it became brighter, crispier and cleaner. However, the problem really are not the graphics but with the physics that are too floaty and the environments, which looked dull and these issues are something that cel shading could not fix, according to the same site.
The change in the game's art style looked worse because of the black outlines, as per VG 24/7.
There may be a chance that the game will play beautifully regardless of what it looks like. However, the promotional materials are not pretty convincing and reassuring to its target buyers.
The review stated that art style changes are rare in the gaming industry. If and when they do happen, it is usually for a game that's going to undergo major design changes.
However, "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" is just a few weeks away from its launch. Some are suggesting to delay the release the problems are fixed and everything is done right.
Rumor has it that fans are becoming doubtful that the game is going to have more issues than just the visuals.
All that has been presented are sceenshots. As of this time there is no new footage released yet showcasing the upgraded graphics.
"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" will be released on Sept. 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which will include the online gameplay, allowing up to 20 people to skate altogether with dedicated servers to handle the traffic.
PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are slated for Nov. 10. No online versions will be offered for these consoles.
