Fans awaiting news and updates on "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 want to know what will happen to Robert Carlyle's character Rumpelstiltskin aka Mr. Gold.
Bustle reported that although there were enough details given out about "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 — such as Emma transitioning into the Dark One, Merida going to Storybrooke and Prince Charming and King Arthur's trip to Camelot — one character was sidelined with so many queries left unanswered.
Robert Carlyle answered some questions regarding his character Rumpelstiltskin or Mr. Gold.
He said, "Rumple's not in a coma. Gold's in a coma. Gold's got a white heart, Rumple doesn't. It's a different thing."
What? Did his answer confuse you even more? Rumpelstiltskin is Mr. Gold and vice versa. Mr. Gold only lives because that is his new identity in Storybrooke, the realm that the Evil Queen/Regina conceived with her Dark Curse. They were the same being existing in a singular chronology, so it's challenging to put Carlyle's comment in perspective. Rumpelstiltskin was under a coma because Gold was also experiencing it. They're one and the same person, just identified by two contrasting name. So, where exactly does Robert Carlyle go with his statement?
Mr. Gold may be largely missed in "Once Upon A Time" Season 5, but apparently, viewers will still get to see Rumpelstiltskin if and when the crew of Storybrooke journeys back in time to look for Merlin in the Enchanted Forest.
Meanwhile, newbie Elizabeth Lail, who portrayed Anna from the movie "Frozen," had a fascinating task of creating her own take of the character. Lail discussed in a behind-the-scenes footage exclusive from "Once Upon a Time: The Complete Fourth Season," available on Tuesday on DVD and Blu-Ray, that she was still trying to find a solution on how to control the icy powers of Elsa, her sister and Queen of Arendelle, even after she's taken into the world of Storybrooke, as per Entertain This!
In other news, International Business Times reported fans trooped to the D23 Expo in California at the Anaheim Convention Center for the official Disney Fan Club held annually. This year "Once Upon a Time" joined the Saturday panel entitled "Once Upon A Time: An Evening with Snow White and The Evil Queen." Co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, together with Ginnifer Goodwin and Lana Parilla were reunited with the fans who heard them talked about all that will go down in "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 especially with what will happen to Emma who has become the "Dark One" up to finding the mysterious Merlin, who might be Emma's last hope of getting rid of the darkness within her being.
"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 27 on ABC at 8 p.m. EDT.
