While things remain completely vague, it's clear that some fans want Grant Gustin's Barry and Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin to become an item in the following season. However, this could be an impossible move for the two characters since it has already been confirmed that Panabaker's character is going to transform to her villainous alter-ego Killer Frost at some point this season, WhatCulture has learned.

Panabaker admitted this on Reddit and it was already teased in the finale of "The Flash" Season 1. Fans should know that Killer Frost is literally what her name suggests — a cold-hearted character who can kill using her cold waves. The character is said to be craving for heat and has powers like creating ice weaponry and controlling men with just a kiss.

However, it looks like everyone in the team will go through major changes in the upcoming season. Cisco is also getting some upgrade after it was teased in the finale that he was also affected the night the particle accelerator exploded. He is set to uncover his metahuman capabilities slowly but surely.

Other things to watch out for is the appearance of Jay Garrick and Wally West and the season's main villain Zoom, who is said to be faster than The Flash and Reverse Flash, International Business Times has learned.

Other villains to watch out for this upcoming season are Atom-Smasher, Mirror Master and Vandal Savage.

Show producer Gabrielle Stanton also confirmed that Doctor Light is set to appear this season, but Stanton said "it's going to be the female version" of the character.

"The Flash" Season 2 is premiering with the pilot episode entitled "The Man Who Saved Central City" on Oct. 6, on The CW.
