"Fastest Man on No Legs" and Paralympian Oscar Pistorius is now speculated to be a victim of a political interference after his supposed release on Friday was altered by South Africa's Justice and Correctional Services Minister, Michael Masutha, just three days before he was bound for discharge.

The Week reported that the timely interference by Masutha was made on the day that would have been Reeva Steenkamp's 32nd birthday raising suppositions whether the 28 year-old sprinter's high-profile prisoner status has affected Masutha's decision. Steenkamp and Pistorius were in a relationship when the athlete shot his girlfriend that resulted to her death, Valentine' s day of 2013.

Pistorius was charged of culpable homicide and has been imprisoned since October last year. He was allowed to undergo parole for his five year imprisonment sentence before the justice minister suspended such pending review of the case. Prosecutors have since pushed for an appeal to change his conviction to murder.

While Steenkamp's family has expressed their extreme aversion towards the alleged perpetrator to their daughter's death, Reeva's father, Barry Steenkamp would rather leave it to the justice system to determine Pistorius' guilt, as per Daily Mail and The Guardian.

Meanwhile, the mansion where Steenkamp was found dead was reportedly being turned down recurrently by potential buyers as soon as they learn of the 2013 killing that occurred in the luxury home. Pistorius occupied the mansion before selling it to cover for the expenses he incurred paying for litigation fees.

According to Daily Mail, the Pretoria mansion's new owner Louwtjie Louwrens is having a hard time looking for tenants that would occupy the place. The 58 year-old businessman has bought the mansion for £230,000, which is short by £100,000 of the price Pistorius was selling it for back in 2011. Louwrens said he had redecorated the mansion and replaced the bathroom door that Pistorius shot where the bullets penetrated and killed Steenkamp.

Pistorius became famous after the 2004 Athens Paralympics where he set a new record for the 200 meter-dash, making him the fastest running amputee to cover the said distance.
